Cambridge Lower Secondary Program (CLSP)
The Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme is designed to support students in Years 6 to 8 (Key Stage 3), building seamlessly on the knowledge and skills acquired during the primary years. With a strong focus on English, Mathematics, and Science, the programme helps learners deepen their understanding and prepare for the academic challenges of secondary education.
This internationally benchmarked framework offers schools a well-rounded system for delivering high-quality education, supported by a complete suite of teaching, learning, and assessment resources. It also provides structured tools to monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that each learner stays on track toward academic excellence.
At the end of Years 6 and 7, students take Progression Tests in Mathematics, English, and Science. These tests help teachers and parents track student progress over time and analyze performance against an external benchmark. The Progression Tests build upon the CIPP assessments for Years 3 to 5.
At the end of Lower Secondary (Years 8), students take the Cambridge Checkpoint tests, which offer detailed feedback on their strengths and weaknesses before progressing to Key Stage 4 and the IGCSE. These tests also provide a reliable indication of how well a student is likely to perform in IGCSE examinations for the relevant subjects.
Global Qualifications, Trusted Standards: The IGCSE Pathway
At the conclusion of the IGCSE programme, typically in Year 10, students undertake a series of externally assessed examinations. These assessments are conducted and moderated by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), ensuring a rigorous, fair, and globally standardized evaluation process.
Recognized by leading educational institutions worldwide, the IGCSE qualification provides students with a strong academic foundation and prepares them for advanced studies in Years 11 and 12, including A Levels or equivalent programmes. As part of the globally respected Cambridge Assessment International Education, the IGCSE represents excellence in education and is a key stepping stone in a student’s academic journey.
